David is Managing Director of McConnell Group.
He has a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from Canterbury University and an MBA from the Kellogg Business School, Northwestern University in Chicago. David began his career in Sydney with strategic management consulting company Booz Allen and Hamilton Inc returning to New Zealand in 1993 to establish McConnell Group, with his father and brother.
David was instrumental in the establishment and initial management of McConnell Property in 1997. Since that time the business has developed into one of New Zealand’s exemplary property development companies with a reputation for industry leadership and strict governance.
David has been appointed Chair of Tourism, Events and Economic Development, one of the newly established CCO's for Auckland City. He is a Director of the Committee for Auckland and is a Chairman of the University of Auckland's Business School Advisory Board. He is a past Board member of Mighty River Power and past Deputy Chair of Telstra Clear Events Centre.
In 2006 he received the Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leadership Award and in 2008 a prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship.

Peter brings considerable financial and risk management skills to the Group, particularly in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and post-transaction implementation.
His career spans infrastructure, construction and corporate restructuring, including senior roles with construction group Laing O'Rourke, Le Meridien Hotels and Severn Trent Water.
Peter joined Steelpipe and the Group in July 2010. He has a BA and MCom from Otago, and MBA from London Business School and is a CFA charterholder.

Nigel has over 25 years’ experience in the property development and construction industry across a variety of sectors and business environments.
He has built an extensive knowledge in commercial building, infrastructural and land development projects with direct project participation in the planning and consenting of the 192 ha Highbrook (Auckland) and 70ha Titanium (Hamilton) business parks, delivery of the 18,000m2 Telstra Centre, major refurbishment of the 20,000m2 AXA Centre and more recently the PricewaterhouseCoopers tower and Ascot Central office developments.
Nigel joined McConnell Property in 2003 and was appointed General Manager in December 2010.

With a building career spanning more than twenty years, Chris has a depth of experience in management and strategic planning and a clear focus on the continuous changes affecting the building industry.
Chris joined the Hawkins team in 2002 as CEO and his input and overall direction is highly valued. He has an MBA majoring in Corporate Finance and New Ventures and a NZ Certificate in Quantity Surveying.

John has been Executive Director of McConnell Group since 1993.
He has an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business, New Hampshire USA and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Melbourne. Following two years as a Process Engineer, John moved into corporate finance and investment banking as a Corporate Analyst for Jarden Corporation in New Zealand.
After completing his MBA he became an Associate with Merrill Lynch Capital Markets in New York structuring, implementing and advising on debt finance programmes.
John then spent three years with McConnell Dowell Corporation restructuring the company .

Since 1995 Mike Wardle has had overall financial and administration responsibility for McConnell Group and the operating businesses, including the monitoring of the Group’s treasury, cashflow, taxation, profitability and business planning processes.
Mike’s qualities support the McConnell Group culture. He demands rigorous reporting standards, of both himself and those directly reporting to him. He attends all monthly Board meetings and presents a monthly report to the Board on the financial aspects of the Group.
Mike has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. His extensive financial and administrative experience includes senior roles in New Zealand, the Middle East, Hong Kong and Hawaii.
